Buying guide

How to choose an AI image generator

Start from what the images are for, then read the rights and privacy terms of the plan you would actually buy, because they differ more than the pictures do.

Model, art platform or brand imagery
Image models such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Ideogram or Leonardo are where the strongest pictures come from. Art platforms such as NightCafe put several models behind one account and a community. Brand imagery tools such as Stockimg or Astria make product shots, headshots and on-brand images.

Control matters more than the demo
If you need the same character or layout again, look for a fixed seed, reference images and control by pose or sketch. If you make ads or posters, check that it renders readable text. If you will generate in bulk, check for a public API.

Rights, privacy and training
Check commercial use on your plan, whether your images are public by default, and whether the vendor trains on what you make, as Midjourney does. A few, Adobe among them, will cover a copyright claim over what you generate on qualifying plans.
