What is Recraft?
Recraft builds its own image and vector models, currently the Recraft V4.1 family, which includes V4.1, V4.1 Vector, V4.1 Utility and V4.1 Flash. Alongside its own models, Recraft gives access to other companies' image models, including Nano Banana, Flux, Ideogram, HiDream, Imagen, Qwen Image, Seedream and Grok Image. The product runs on the web through Recraft Studio, and on iOS and Android apps.
What Recraft generates
Recraft's own model family generates raster images, and a separate vector mode produces SVG output through its AI vector generator, editor and converter. Aspect ratio and negative prompt controls are both available for shaping a generation. There is no dedicated control for pose or structural input, and Recraft does not offer a dedicated character-consistency feature.
Editing tools include inpainting, outpainting, an AI background remover, and two upscaling modes, Crisp and Creative, for increasing resolution and detail. A custom style can be trained from up to ten of your own uploaded reference images, weighted against each other and saved to a personal style library for future projects.
Video generation, using other companies' video models including Kling, Grok Imagine Video, Veo, Sora and Seedance, is available from the Pro plan up. An API gives programmatic access to image and vector generation, editing, background removal, inpainting, outpainting and batch jobs.
Working with other people
Recraft runs on the web through Recraft Studio, and on iOS and Android, with account, projects, styles and credits synced across them. The Teams plan bills per seat and adds single sign-on. The interface is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Ukrainian and Russian.
Recraft pricing: what each plan gives
The Free plan costs nothing and gives 3 generations per style a day and 3 image uploads a day, up to 2 images per generation, using Recraft's own models only; its images are public, and Recraft owns them rather than you, with no commercial use. Basic costs $12 a month ($10 a month billed yearly) and gives 1,000 credits a month, commercial rights and private generations. Pro costs $20 a month ($16 a month billed yearly) with 2,000 credits a month and adds video generation. Teams costs $22 a user a month ($18 a user a month billed yearly), also with 2,000 credits a user a month, and adds single sign-on. Prices exclude VAT, and there is no free trial of a paid plan.
Rights and privacy
On a paid plan, you retain full ownership and commercial rights over what you generate; on the Free plan, Recraft owns the images, and they are public rather than private. Recraft's terms require you to indemnify the company; there is no clause where Recraft indemnifies you.
Free and paid individual accounts are used to train Recraft's models by default, though you can opt out at any time in account settings; Teams accounts are not included by default, and API inputs and outputs are never used for training. Recraft is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and aligns with GDPR. Support runs through email, an in-app live chat, a Discord community and a help center.
