Single sign-on lets your team log in to a tool with the account they already use at work, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft or Okta. There is no new password to create. When someone leaves, switching off their work account locks them out of every connected tool at once.
02Why it matters when you are choosing
For a team, SSO is mostly about control. IT can see who has access and remove it in one place. Many vendors keep SSO for their top plan, so it can be the feature that decides which plan you actually need.
03What to check
Check which plan includes it and which identity providers are supported (SAML, Okta, Azure AD, Google). Ask whether SSO can be made compulsory for everyone, and whether it comes with SCIM for adding and removing users.
04The tools
177 of the 262 tools we checked offer SSO. Each one is checked against the vendor's own pages. A tool missing from this list may not have been checked yet, which is not the same as a no.
