What is Miro?
Miro is made by RealtimeBoard, Inc., doing business as Miro, based in San Francisco. It runs on the web, on Windows and Mac desktop apps, and on iOS and Android, with the interface available in English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and Polish.
Managing work in Miro
Work is organized across several formats: board and Kanban-style views, tables, timelines, a whiteboard canvas and Docs. Docs is included on every plan, including Free. A separate Goals product supports OKR-style planning, walking teams from an overall vision to individual objectives. Miro has no time tracking feature and no form-builder feature.
Rule-based automations can be set to active, paused or draft status, with a record of when each one last ran.
Miro AI appears as Sidekicks, customizable AI agents that analyze canvas content and generate outputs, and Flows for AI workflows; the same agents also generate and edit text inside Docs and other canvas formats. On the Free plan this is a limited trial backed by 10 AI credits a month. Starter, the cheapest paid plan, raises the allowance to 25 AI credits per member a month, but Sidekicks and Flows remain a limited trial there too. They are included in full only from the Business plan, which also raises the allowance to 50 AI credits per member a month. In beta, you can choose the model behind Flows and Sidekicks tasks from a list of GPT, Claude and Gemini models. Miro has no feature that records meetings or writes meeting notes automatically.
Working with other people
Unlimited private workspaces can be created and customized for each team or client. Guests can be invited as securely signed-in collaborators from the Business plan up; Free and Starter do not offer guest access.
Miro integrates with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Slack, Adobe, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow and GitHub Copilot, and connects to AI coding tools including Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI and OpenAI Codex. It has a public REST API with documentation and SDKs, and its own MCP server for connecting boards to MCP-compatible AI tools.
Miro pricing: what each plan gives
The Free plan costs nothing and gives 3 editable boards (older boards become view-only), unlimited team members, basic sharing with no private boards, and 10 AI credits a month as a trial of Miro AI.
Starter costs $10 a month per member ($8 a month billed yearly, minimum purchase of 2 licenses) and gives 25 AI credits per member a month, with AI Workflows and agents still limited to a trial. Business costs $25 a month per member ($20 a month billed yearly) and gives 50 AI credits per member a month, with Sidekicks and Flows included in full.
There is a 14-day free trial of the Business plan.
Privacy and security
Miro does not use customer data to train its AI models, and does not share AI interactions with third-party model providers for their own training. It is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant. Single sign-on (SAML) is on the Business plan and up.
Support runs through a chat bot, a community forum and a help center.

Miro suits teams who want a flexible visual canvas across boards, docs, tables and timelines, who already work in Microsoft, Google or Atlassian tools or AI coding assistants, and who can wait for the Business plan to get Sidekicks and Flows in full.
It suits less well teams that need Miro AI's agents from day one on a budget plan, since Free and Starter only offer a limited trial, or teams that need built-in time tracking or a form builder, since Miro has neither.
