Gamma is an AI tool that turns a written prompt, an outline or an uploaded file into a finished, editable presentation, document or website. What is Gamma?
Gamma is made by Gamma Tech, Inc., based in San Francisco. It runs in the browser, with apps for iOS and Android, and generates content using Claude, ChatGPT and DALL-E, Gemini, Flux, Recraft, Playground, Ideogram, Luma and Leonardo.
Beyond presentations, Gamma also builds documents, websites, social content and standalone images from the same prompt-based flow, with dozens of themes to apply or a brand's own colors instead.
Making a deck with Gamma
A written prompt, a pasted outline or an uploaded Word document, PDF or Google Doc all become the starting point for a deck; Gamma reads the content and structures the slides from there. Existing PDF and PPTX files can also be imported directly.
A finished deck exports to PDF, PPTX or PNG, or straight to Google Slides. It can also be published as a live web page rather than a downloaded file, with view and slide analytics available from the Pro plan up, and up to 10 custom domains on Pro or up to 100 on Ultra.
Working with other people
More than one person can edit a Gamma project at the same time, and a project can be shared with reviewers in a view-and-comment-only mode that does not allow editing. A theme editor and brand controls keep colors and branding consistent, including in AI-generated images.
An API is available on Pro and Ultra plans and draws on the same AI credits; it connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Atlassian Rovo, Superhuman Go, Glean, n8n, Make and Zapier. Gamma runs in the browser and through its iOS and Android apps, and single sign-on is included on the Business plan.
Gamma pricing: what each plan gives
The free plan costs nothing and needs no credit card. It gives 400 credits at signup, up to 10 slides per prompt, simple presentations, documents, websites, social content and images, plus import from PDF and PPTX and export to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides; its output still carries Gamma's own branding. Gamma does not publish a time-limited trial of its paid plans; the free plan stands in for one instead.
Plus is $12 a month per seat, or $9 a month billed yearly, with 1,000 monthly credits, and removes Gamma's branding from projects. Pro is $25 a month per seat, or $18 a month billed yearly, with 4,000 monthly credits. Ultra is $100 a month per seat, or $90 a month billed yearly, with 20,000 monthly credits.
Business does not publish a plain monthly price; billed yearly, it works out to $40 a month per seat, with 10,000 credits per seat each month and single sign-on included.
Privacy and support
On Free, Plus, Pro and Ultra, Gamma allows content to be used to train its AI models by default, with an opt-out available at any time in account settings. Business, Enterprise and Team workspaces have this turned off automatically, and it is locked so it cannot be switched back on.
Gamma holds a SOC 2 Type II report and states it has an EU GDPR representative. Support runs through email and an in-product chat, alongside a help center.
Who Gamma suits
Gamma suits anyone producing decks, documents, websites or social content regularly from a prompt or an existing file, who wants a live published link with analytics rather than only a downloaded file, and who is comfortable with a shared AI credit allowance rather than unlimited generation. Teams that want a brand kept consistent across AI-generated images and slides, with single sign-on, will find that on the Business plan.
It suits less well anyone who wants to edit a generated image afterward, since Gamma regenerates an image from a new prompt rather than editing the existing one directly. It also suits less well individuals who don't want their content used to train Gamma's AI by default, unless they turn that off themselves, and anyone who needs API access without moving to Pro or above.
