Some free trials ask for your card before you start and bill you automatically when the trial ends. Others let you start with just an email. "No credit card required" means the second kind.

A no-card trial means you cannot be charged by forgetting to cancel. A card-first trial is not a bad sign in itself, but it is worth noting the end date.

Read the sign-up page, not the pricing page. Check whether the card is needed for the trial itself or only for some features within it.
