Suno turns a text prompt into a full song, complete with vocals, lyrics and production, or an instrumental if that is what you ask for. What is Suno?
Suno is a company whose product runs on the web, iOS and Android. Suno Studio, a browser-based multitrack editor, comes with the Premier plan.
Making music with Suno
A song can start from nothing but a prompt: describe a genre, mood or theme and Suno writes lyrics as well as music, or you can supply your own lyrics and have Suno set them. Instrumental tracks, without vocals, are also supported.
Once a track exists you can extend it, remix it, upload or record your own audio as a reference, rewrite lyrics and reorder sections rather than starting over. Stem separation splits a finished track into its parts: two separation types are available on the Pro plan and three on Premier, but the free plan has no stem separation at all.
The free plan uses Suno's free model, v6-mini. The paid plans add the more advanced v6 and v6-wild models.
Who owns what you make
Ownership depends on the plan. On Pro and Premier, Suno assigns you all of its right, title and interest in songs generated from your prompts, though it makes no promise that copyright exists in machine-made output. On the Free plan, output is restricted to personal, non-commercial use only, and no ownership is assigned to you.
Working with other people
Suno has no public developer API. It runs on the web, iOS and Android, with no shared team workspace for multiple users on one account.

The Free plan costs nothing and gives 50 credits a day on the v6-mini model, with standard features only, uploads up to 8 minutes of audio, a shared generation queue, no monthly song downloads, no commercial rights and no stem separation. There is no free trial of a paid plan, only this ongoing free tier.
Pro costs $10 a month ($8 a month billed yearly) and gives 2,500 credits a month, 20 song downloads a month, commercial use rights, two stem separation types and access to the v6 and v6-wild models. Premier costs $30 a month ($24 a month billed yearly) and adds a third, more advanced stem separation type on top of everything in Pro.
Privacy and support
Suno uses what you submit to train and improve its models, and does not describe an opt-out for this. Its privacy policy sets out GDPR rights for European and UK users. Commercial use of your songs requires the Pro or Premier plan; the free tier is personal and non-commercial only.
