Apollo.io is a sales intelligence and engagement platform that combines a database of more than 240 million contacts and 30 million companies with sequences, a dialer, deal management and enrichment. It is now led by its AI GTM System and GTM Harness agents. What decides whether it suits you is how many credits each seat needs each month, since data, AI research and dialer use are all metered in credits.

What is Apollo.io?
Apollo.io is a cloud platform that runs on the web, with a Chrome extension and Gmail and Salesforce extensions. LinkedIn prospecting is through the Chrome extension. Apollo is priced per seat, and each seat comes with a monthly credit allowance.
What Apollo.io does for sales and marketing
The data is the starting point: a database of more than 240 million contacts and more than 30 million companies, searchable for prospecting and used to enrich your own records. Free includes 100 CRM enrichments a month and lets you identify 20 companies a month from website visitors. The Inbound add-on Essentials identifies website visitors in the US.
For outreach, Apollo has email sequences and a parallel dialer. Basic has unlimited sequences, while Free has 2. Professional adds AI lead scoring, A/Z testing and call recording, and the Organization plan adds unlimited meeting events.
Apollo has its own lead and deal management and CRM enrichment, and it also syncs both ways with Salesforce and HubSpot. Gmail and Slack are connected too, and there are 200 integrations in all, including Gong, Outreach, Salesloft and Findymail.
The agents sit on top. GTM Harness is the agent layer under Workspace and Apollo Anywhere. Apollo also ships an AI Assistant, which is included in the plan with a chat cap on Free (5 chats), and AI Research, which is charged in credits at about 1 credit per run. Autonomy levels are set by your team, and agents start with guided recommendations. Builder Studio, Apollo's tool for building custom GTM apps and agents from a prompt, is on a waitlist.
The Apollo MCP server has more than 27 tools for prospect search, enrichment, sequences, email sending and analytics. It works from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and agents can send email, manage sequences and enrich through it. API access is on every plan including Free, with one API key and a published OpenAPI 3 spec.
Working with other people
Apollo is built for sales and revenue teams. The Organization plan needs at least 3 seats. SSO and SCIM are on the Custom plan, which is quoted by sales and covers custom volumes, advanced security and dedicated support. Audit logs and role-based access are available.
Apollo.io pricing: what each plan gives

Apollo charges per seat, with a monthly credit allowance per seat. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, including purchased ones. Extra credits can be added with a slider in Settings, under Manage Subscription and Customize Credits, and they are charged immediately and renew each cycle.
The Free plan gives 75 credits per seat per month, 2 sequences, basic filters, 5 AI Assistant chats, 100 CRM enrichments a month and API access. Basic costs $65 per seat a month, or $49 per seat a month billed annually, with 2,500 credits per seat per month and unlimited sequences. Professional costs $99 per seat a month, or $79 billed annually, with 4,000 credits per seat per month. Organization costs $119 per seat a month, annual billing only, with a minimum of 3 seats and 6,000 credits per seat per month.
Basic and Professional come with a 14-day trial that includes 75 credits and most features of the selected plan, and afterwards you can move to the free plan. The Inbound add-on is priced per team: Essentials costs $149 a month, or $119 billed annually, and Max costs $799 a month, or $639 billed annually. A team of 3 on Basic monthly pays $195 a month.
Privacy and security
Apollo can train its own models on usage data and its contact database, with no customer opt-out. Third-party AI providers are barred from training on your data and must delete inputs and outputs after a set period.
Apollo is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, and it also holds ISO 27001 and PCI DSS. Support is through live chat in the Help Center and the Apollo community, and there is a status page.
Who Apollo.io suits
Apollo.io suits sales and revenue teams that want B2B contact data, outreach sequences and AI prospecting in one seat-based platform. It also suits teams that want to work from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, since the MCP server exposes prospect search, enrichment and sequences, and teams that already use Salesforce or HubSpot, which sync both ways.
It suits less well anyone who wants control over training, since there is no customer opt-out for Apollo's own models. It also suits less well teams that need more credits than the 75 per seat per month on Free or the 2,500 on Basic, and anyone expecting to build custom agents today, since Builder Studio is on a waitlist.
