The refund policy isn't published anywhere we looked. Annoying. Especially for academic researchers working on grant money with tight budgets. Live chat support is Plus and Enterprise only. Basic users get email. Not great.
Silvi vs Covidence: Which AI Research Tool Is Better?
Covidence is the established name in systematic review software. Well-funded, widely adopted by universities, and it has Cochrane's backing. That last point matters if your review is heading toward Cochrane publication.
Silvi is cheaper and has AI extraction built more natively into the workflow. Covidence's AI features are newer and feel more bolted on, from what we've seen in the docs and what little user commentary exists. Silvi's PDF highlighting and transparent data linking look more native to the core workflow.
The gap in database coverage is where Covidence still wins, particularly for clinical teams. If you're in education research or need OpenAlex's breadth, Silvi starts to look more competitive. Clinical researchers who need direct Embase or Cochrane access. Not the right tool, or at least not a complete one. Plan around the RIS import workaround or look elsewhere first.

Silvi is a focused tool doing a specific job. It doesn't try to be a general AI research assistant. It won't write your introduction or find you papers across the open web. What it does is manage the structured, methodological work of a systematic review, and it does that with more thought than most tools at this price.
The transparent extraction model, with source-linked highlights and audit traceability, is the best thing about it. Science requires that. Silvi builds it in from the start rather than treating it as a premium add-on.
What holds it back: the database gaps are real, the independent review trail is essentially nonexistent, and the refund policy silence is a small but genuine annoyance.
