Research-based review. Features and prices are checked on the vendor's own website, and the score is worked out from those facts. We haven't tested it hands-on yet.

The verdict

Worth buying a small credit pack if you just want quick restyles of a room photo, but it offers no editing, staging or video, so designers will outgrow it fast.

Pros

  • There is no subscription: credits come in one-time packs and unused credits never expire.
  • One photo becomes up to four redesigns in different themes at once.
  • A new account gets one free generation.
  • Commercial use of the photos is included with purchased credits.

Cons

  • It makes whole-room redesigns only, with no editing, object removal or virtual staging.
  • A photo is the only input; sketches, floor plans and 3D models are not accepted.
  • Past rooms cannot be saved in the app yet.

How the Spec Score works

Scored from what RoomGPT publishes on its own site. Not a hands-on test.

Compared with 8 AI room and building renderers. Facts checked 31 Oct 2026.

A fact the vendor does not publish gets half the points, or the typical value for a number, and says so. It never counts as a no. How we score.

RoomGPT is a simple web app that turns one photo of a room into up to four redesigns in preset themes. It sells one-time credit packs with no subscription, so what decides whether it suits you is whether you want quick restyles of a room photo and nothing more: there are no editing, staging or video tools.

What is RoomGPT?

RoomGPT runs in the browser, in English, and you sign in with a Google account. A new account gets one free generation, and every redesign after that is paid for with credits.

Designing a room with RoomGPT

Every redesign starts from a photo of your room, uploaded as a JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC file. There is no sketch, 3D model, floor plan or text-only input. You pick the room type from nine options, a quality level, and up to four themes such as Modern, Summer, Professional and Tropical; uploading your own style reference is not offered.

Quality sets the credit cost: a Basic redesign costs 1 credit, Pro quality 2 and Ultra quality 4. On Pro and Ultra quality you can also write extra details to guide the result.

Results are still photos that you download, and commercial use of them is included with purchased credits. RoomGPT offers whole-room redesigns only: there is no inpainting, object removal, virtual staging or other editing, and no video or walkthrough. Saving your rooms in a dashboard is marked as coming soon.

Working with other people

RoomGPT is a single-user app with no sharing, team workspace or comments, and credits belong to one account and cannot be transferred. There is no API and no integrations. Team or bulk pricing is available by email request.

RoomGPT pricing: what each plan gives

There is no subscription and no free plan; a new account gets one free generation. Credits come in one-time packs, and unused credits never expire.

30 credits cost $9, 100 credits cost $19 and 200 credits cost $29. At 1 credit per Basic redesign, the packs cover 30, 100 and 200 Basic redesigns; Pro and Ultra quality use 2 and 4 credits each.

Privacy and support

Google sign-in is the only login, with no SAML or enterprise single sign-on. Support and refund requests go to the maker by email, and purchased credits include premium support by email.

Who RoomGPT suits

RoomGPT suits homeowners and renters who want to see a room in a few different styles from one photo, without a subscription. The one-time packs and credits that never expire fit occasional use.

It suits less well anyone who needs to edit a render, stage an empty room, work from a sketch or floor plan, or share designs with a team, since RoomGPT does none of these. Designers who want to keep past rooms in the app should know that saving is not available yet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is RoomGPT free?
