AIVA is made by Aiva Technologies Sarl, based in Luxembourg. It works two ways: as a web account you log into, or as a downloadable desktop app for Windows and Mac, with your membership and billing shared across both.
Making music with AIVA
You can upload an audio or MIDI track as an influence for a composition; you can also create your own style models. There is no sung vocal or lyric feature anywhere in the product, and the showcased pieces are instrumental and orchestral.
Track length grows with plan: the free tier caps at three minutes, Standard reaches five minutes, and Pro extends to five minutes thirty seconds, the longest offered. Downloads on Free and Standard are MP3 and MIDI; Pro adds every file format plus high-quality WAV export.
Who owns what you make
On Free, copyright stays with AIVA, no monetization is allowed, and you must credit AIVA. Standard keeps copyright with AIVA too, only permitting limited monetization on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram. Pro is the only tier where copyright transfers to you, with full, unrestricted monetization and no credit requirement.
Working with other people
AIVA has no developer API and no integrations. There is no shared team workspace; every plan, including the contact-only Enterprise tier, is built around an individual account.
AIVA pricing: what each plan gives
The free plan allows three downloads a month, tracks up to three minutes, and MP3 or MIDI export, with no commercial use and a requirement to credit AIVA. There is no time-limited trial of the paid tiers, only the free plan on an ongoing basis.
Standard and Pro are billed monthly or annually, with the annual term paid upfront at a lower monthly rate; AIVA prices them in euros, plus VAT, for every buyer. Standard costs 15 euros a month, or 11 euros a month billed yearly, and gives 15 downloads a month and tracks up to five minutes, but keeps copyright with AIVA and only permits limited monetization on named platforms. Pro costs 49 euros a month, or 33 euros a month billed yearly, and adds full copyright ownership, unrestricted monetization, every file format, and the longest track length. Enterprise has no published price and is reached by contacting AIVA directly.

AIVA suits anyone who wants instrumental music, including pieces built on a track they upload, and who is willing to pay for the Pro tier to actually own and freely monetize what they make. The desktop app on Windows and Mac also suits anyone who prefers working outside a browser.
It suits less well anyone who needs vocals, sung lyrics or a shared team account, none of which AIVA offers on any plan. Standard-tier subscribers should also know that copyright still stays with AIVA even though they are paying, with only limited monetization allowed.
