What is SEOPress?
SEOPress is a WordPress plugin for on-page SEO made by a team in south-west France. The free plugin is on WordPress.org, and SEOPress PRO, SEOPress Insights and SEOPress AI Credits are sold on the SEOPress site.
The free edition already analyzes content for unlimited target keywords and sets up tracking codes for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Matomo. Most of the technical SEO tools, from redirects to schema, are in PRO.
What SEOPress does for your WordPress SEO
On-page SEO and schema
Content analysis runs in your editor on Free and PRO, with unlimited target keywords per post on both. Schema is a PRO feature: you can add automatic and manual schemas with conditions, and build custom schemas. PRO also adds an llms.txt file for AI crawlers, serves clean text versions of pages to AI agents, and blocks training bots while allowing citation bots. Editing robots.txt and .htaccess is in PRO too.
Redirects and 404s
The redirection manager and 404 error monitoring are in PRO. 404 monitoring detects broken URLs on your site so you can fix them, and PRO also has a broken link checker that finds and removes broken links.
Local and WooCommerce SEO
Enhanced local SEO is in PRO. So is SEO for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads stores.
AI writing and meta generation
PRO generates meta titles and descriptions, Open Graph and X card tags, and image alt text and captions with AI, including in bulk. Its AI assistant also writes text, though its main focus is SEO metadata and image text. The free edition has limited AI generation.
The AI in PRO runs on your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral or DeepSeek key at no extra SEOPress cost. If you would rather not set up a key, SEOPress AI Credits is an optional monthly subscription that removes the need for one.
Internal linking
PRO suggests internal links automatically and tracks outgoing affiliate links. Internal link suggestions are not in the free edition.
Search Console and Analytics data
PRO brings Google Search Console data into your post, page and post type lists, with clicks, positions, CTR and impressions. GA4 stats in the WordPress dashboard are also in PRO.
Rank tracking and site audit
The site audit is in PRO and runs 52 tests in 13 categories for each post type on your site. SEOPress PRO has no rank tracker: keyword rank tracking comes in the separate SEOPress Insights add-on, which saves the position of up to 50 keywords per site daily and also covers backlinks.
Working with other people
PRO licenses cover 1 site, 5 sites or unlimited sites. The white label feature lets an agency put its own branding on the SEOPress plugin; there are no white-label client SEO reports.
Developers get a REST API, WP-CLI and documented hooks. SEOPress also has a built-in MCP server, with 14 tools in the free edition and 13 more in PRO.
SEOPress pricing: what each plan gives
The free plugin covers content analysis with unlimited target keywords, analytics tracking codes, the MCP server's free tools and limited AI generation. It has no redirects, 404 monitoring, schema, local or WooCommerce SEO, site audit or Search Console stats.
SEOPress PRO is billed yearly and renews at the same price. It costs $49 a year for 1 site, which works out to $4.08 a month, $59 a year for 5 sites ($4.92 a month) and $149 a year for unlimited sites ($12.42 a month). PRO is also sold in euros at the same amounts.
SEOPress Insights, for rank tracking and backlinks, costs $99 a year per site, or $8.25 a month. SEOPress AI Credits is billed monthly and can be cancelled any time: Starter is $19 a month for 400,000 credits, Pro $29 a month for 1,500,000 credits and Business $49 a month for 5,000,000 credits.
There is no free trial. PRO and Insights purchases can be refunded within 14 days.
Privacy and support
SEOPress has no ads and no telemetry, and is built with privacy by design for GDPR and similar regulations.
PRO customers get support by ticket and email, Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm Paris time, plus an AI chatbot; there is no live chat with a person. The free edition is supported on the WordPress.org forum, and guides, an FAQ and ebooks are open to everyone.
Who SEOPress suits
SEOPress suits WordPress site owners who want redirects, schema, local and WooCommerce SEO, a site audit and Search Console data at a low yearly price, and agencies that want unlimited sites and a white-labelled plugin. It fits best if you already have an AI key, since PRO's AI tools run on it at no extra SEOPress cost.
It suits less well anyone who wants rank tracking in the main plan, since that needs Insights at $99 a year for each site. Agencies that send branded SEO reports to clients will not find them here, and anyone without an AI key pays for AI Credits as a monthly subscription on top of PRO.
