Kickresume is a resume and cover letter builder with designed templates, an AI writer, resume tailoring and an ATS checker, plus a personal website builder. Whether it suits you depends on how much of the AI you need, because resumes and downloads are free on four templates, while the AI writer, the rest of the templates and unlimited tailoring sit on Premium.
What is Kickresume?
Kickresume is based in Slovakia, in the EU. It runs on the web and has apps for iOS and Android, and a Premium plan bought on the web also covers the mobile app.
Beyond resumes and cover letters, Kickresume builds a personal website from your resume content, with one website template on the free plan.
Building your resume with Kickresume
Kickresume has 40 customisable resume templates and 26 fonts on Premium; the free plan uses 4 resume templates, 4 cover letter templates and 2 fonts, with limited design options. You can import a LinkedIn profile to build a resume from it, though Kickresume does not review or rewrite the profile itself.
The AI writer generates keyword-optimised, job-specific content for every section of a resume, and writes cover letters too. Both are Premium features. Resume tailoring works from a job description: paste it in, and the AI compares it with your current resume and rewrites the resume to match. Your first tailoring is free, and Premium makes it unlimited.
The ATS Resume Checker simulates an applicant tracking system scan and gives your resume a score; the AI resume checker is not on the free plan. For interviews, Kickresume has an AI job interview questions generator, not mock interviews or a live interview assistant. A free job application tracker keeps your search in order.
When a resume is ready, you download it as PDF or DOCX, share it with a unique link, or email it directly to employers. Kickresume does not apply to jobs for you. Human grammar correction is an extra service at $30 per resume.
Kickresume pricing: what each plan gives
The free plan gives unlimited resumes, cover letters and downloads, with 4 resume templates, 4 cover letter templates, 1 personal website template, 2 fonts, limited design options and one free resume tailoring. It has no AI writer or AI resume checker. Downloads stay free as long as you stick to the free customisation options.
Premium is one tier billed three ways: $24 every month, $54 every 3 months ($18 a month), or $96 every 12 months ($8 a month). It adds all 40 templates, 26 fonts, the AI writer, unlimited tailoring and priority support. Every billing period renews at the same price until you cancel, and remaining time is not refunded. There is no paid trial and no lifetime plan.
Students with an ISIC, ITIC or UNiDAYS card get Premium free.
Privacy and security
Kickresume can use your documents for training. Its policy reads that it "may train and develop our systems with user's strictly anonymised data including documents generated by our users", so documents are anonymised before that use. The AI features send data to AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
Being based in the EU, Kickresume falls under the GDPR, and its data protection officer is reachable at gdpr@kickresume.com. Its infrastructure is penetration tested regularly. Support runs by email at hello@kickresume.com, with priority support on Premium.
Who Kickresume suits
Kickresume suits job seekers who care how their resume looks and want designed templates, a matching cover letter and a personal website from the same content. The yearly plan is cheap per month, and students with an ISIC, ITIC or UNiDAYS card get Premium free.
It suits less well anyone who wants AI writing without paying, since the AI writer is Premium only, and anyone who wants mock interview practice. People who would rather their documents never feed a training process should note that anonymised documents may be used.
