Research-based review. We analyzed vendor documentation, customer reviews on G2, Capterra, and Reddit, and live pricing — not hands-on testing yet. We update as our team puts tools through real workflows.

The verdict

Brand24 is a social listening and brand monitoring platform built for PR teams, marketers, and agencies who need real-time visibility into what's being said about their brand across 25 million online sources. It excels at monitoring and analytics but has zero publishing functionality, making it a specialist tool rather than an all-in-one solution. At its price point, it's best suited for organizations where reputation monitoring is a dedicated priority rather than a secondary task.

Pros

  • Monitors mentions across 25 million online sources including social media, news, blogs, podcasts, forums, and review sites in real time.
  • Sentiment analysis powered by proprietary AI covers 108 languages, making it viable for global brand monitoring.
  • The AI Brand Assistant surfaces actionable takeaways automatically, reducing the need to manually parse large volumes of data.
  • Presence Score feature provides a measurable metric for tracking a brand's online footprint over time.
  • AI Insights reports automatically highlight what matters most from incoming mention floods, saving analyst time.
  • The platform has 13 years of market presence since 2011, suggesting a mature and refined core product.
  • Highly focused scope means the listening and monitoring functionality is deep rather than spread thin across features.

Cons

  • No post scheduling, content calendar, or caption generation tools, making it a poor fit for teams seeking an all-in-one social media management platform.
  • The AI Brand Assistant's effectiveness reportedly varies by use case, and hands-on results are inconsistent according to user feedback.
  • Users coming from tools like Hootsuite expecting publishing and inbox features will find Brand24 feels incomplete by comparison.
  • The price tag is noted as significant relative to its narrowly focused feature set.
  • The tool does not function as a traditional social media management platform, limiting its utility for content-driven marketing teams.
  • AI Insights usefulness has not been independently verified hands-on by reviewers, leaving real-world time savings unconfirmed.

$249 a month to watch what the internet says about you. No publishing. No scheduling. No caption drafts. That's Brand24's whole pitch, and for a specific kind of buyer, it's a reasonable one. For everyone else, the price does the talking.

What is Brand24?

Founded in 2011, Brand24 has been in this space long enough that the product shows it. The core function is a social listening and brand monitoring platform that pulls mentions from social media, news, blogs, podcasts, forums, and review sites across what the company claims is 25 million sources, running in real time. It is not a management tool in the conventional sense. No content calendar. No post scheduling. Nothing that resembles a publishing queue.

The AI layer deserves a more careful description than most reviews give it. Brand24 has its own proprietary metrics and processing, the Presence Score and AI Events Detection being two examples, but the AI Brand Assistant documentation explicitly references GPT models and notes users can ask questions in any language those models understand. Worth separating those two things. The former is Brand24's own engineering. The latter is built on top of infrastructure they didn't build. That's not unusual, but calling the entire AI stack proprietary oversimplifies it.

Sentiment analysis covers 108 languages. Over 4,000 brands are listed as users, with the homepage claiming 16,700 new users per month. Plausible for 13 years on the market. Not verifiable from our end.

Brand24 Features: Scheduling, AI Content & Analytics

Brand24 features screenshot
Brand24 — Features

No scheduling exists here. No bulk publishing. Nothing close to an AI content calendar. Users coming from Hootsuite expecting a combined inbox and publishing workflow will find Brand24 deliberately incomplete on that front. That's a design choice, not an oversight.

What the analytics side does offer is worth detailing. The Presence Score and AI Insights reports are the two features that kept surfacing in vendor documentation as genuine differentiators. Presence Score tracks your brand's overall online footprint over a given period. AI Insights tries to surface what actually matters from the incoming volume of mentions without you having to manually sort through everything.

Beyond those two, the platform covers mention volume tracking and reach metrics, sentiment tagging, influencer identification, share of voice comparisons against competitors, and geographic breakdowns. AI Events Detection flags unusual spikes in mention activity before they'd register through manual checking. Honestly, that one is more useful than it sounds in the feature list. A PR problem caught in the first hour looks very different from one caught six hours later.

The analytics suite is where Brand24 earns its price. The rest of the feature set is thin by design, and they're not apologizing for that.

Brand24 Platform Support: Which Networks Does It Cover?

Coverage is broad. The platform monitors X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Telegram. It also pulls from Spotify, TripAdvisor, the App Store, Twitch, and a range of podcast directories. News sites, blogs, forums, and review aggregators fill out the rest.

Podcast monitoring is the one that stands out. Most tools in this category either skip it or treat it as an add-on. Brand24 handles it natively, which matters specifically for PR and brand communications work where earned audio media is increasingly relevant. The 25 million source figure is the headline claim, and nothing in our research pointed to it being substantially inflated. That said, we haven't audited the source list ourselves.

No publishing to any of these platforms. Monitor only. That's the deal, stated plainly.

Brand24 AI Content Creation: Caption & Copy Quality

There isn't any. Full stop.

Brand24 does not write captions. It does not suggest hashtags for outgoing posts or draft copy of any kind. The AI is pointed entirely at analysis: reading sentiment, detecting event spikes, generating insight summaries, and powering the Brand Assistant. Calling it an AI analytics layer is accurate. Calling it an AI content creation tool is not.

We've seen real confusion about this in the communities we read through. People searching for an AI caption generator or an automated drafting tool hit a wall fast when they look at Brand24's actual feature set. Fair, given how loosely the word "AI" gets used in this category.

The AI Brand Assistant is the most substantive AI feature in the product, and it works less like a chatbot and more like an automated analyst reading your monitoring data and generating a narrative from it. The documentation makes clear it's running on GPT models under the hood. Whether the output is useful depends heavily on mention volume. Low-volume accounts won't give it much to work with.

Is Brand24 Easy to Use?

Setup is straightforward. Create a project, define your keywords, let it run. The dashboard surfaces mentions in a feed and layers on sentiment tags and engagement signals. Most of what we found in user feedback suggests the initial experience is clean enough that non-technical users can get oriented without heavy onboarding.

Depth is where it gets complicated. The analytics section has real configuration options. The reporting area alone has enough levers that a data-oriented marketer could spend serious time in it. Not a complaint. But teams who want to hand this to a junior employee and walk away should think twice.

Mobile apps on iOS and Android exist, which is more than several monitoring competitors bother with. Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations mean alerts can surface where the team already works, which is genuinely practical rather than a checkbox feature.

We're skeptical that most new users extract full value quickly without putting real time into the platform. The AI Insights reports reduce some of that friction. The tool still rewards familiarity over time.

Brand24 Pricing: Is It Worth It for Creators & Agencies?

Brand24 pricing screenshot
Brand24 — Pricing

Uncomfortable is the right word for this section.

The Individual plan is $249 per month billed monthly, or $199 per month on an annual commitment. The Team plan is $349 per month. Pro, which the pricing page marks as most popular, runs $499 per month. Business lands at $699 per month. Enterprise starts from $1,499 per month, billed annually, with a custom keyword count and a custom mentions limit on top of everything else.

The jump from Individual to Enterprise reflects real feature differences. Individual gets 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions per month. Pro gets 12 keywords and 40,000 mentions. Business gets 25 keywords and 100,000 mentions. Enterprise is fully custom on both. AI Insights and AI Topics, the features most relevant to actual workflow value, are limited to 2 projects on Pro and 5 on Business before the unlimited tier kicks in at Enterprise.

There is no free plan. The trial runs 14 days. No public refund policy appears in the documentation we reviewed, which is the kind of gap that should give anyone pause before entering a company card number.

We don't think the pricing is irrational for what the tool does. Enterprise PR teams and brand agencies running multi-client monitoring operations have budgets where $699 a month registers as a line item, not a decision. For a solo marketer or a small business trying brand monitoring for the first time, $249 a month is a steep commitment with no soft landing if it doesn't click.

Brand24 vs Mention: Which Social Media Tool Wins?

Worth flagging upfront: as of July 1, 2026, Mention is no longer sold as a standalone product. Agorapulse Listening is its successor. Anyone currently evaluating Mention as an alternative is shopping for something that's been discontinued. That changes the competitive picture somewhat.

Before that shift, Mention covered social listening, analytics, reporting, and some social media management, not just monitoring. The framing of Brand24 versus a pure monitoring-only Mention was always a bit reductive. The more honest comparison is source depth and AI maturity, and on both counts Brand24 has the edge. AI Events Detection has no direct equivalent in what Mention shipped before its discontinuation.

Brandwatch and Meltwater operate at the high end with enterprise onboarding requirements and pricing that makes Brand24 look accessible by comparison. Sprout Social and Hootsuite bundle monitoring into broader management platforms, which is a different product philosophy entirely. Brand24 sits in a real middle position: more capable than entry-level monitoring tools, less heavyweight than Brandwatch or Talkwalker. That positioning holds up.

Who Should Use Brand24? (And Who Shouldn't)

PR professionals managing earned media at scale. Clearest fit we found. The reporting tools and mention tracking are built around that workflow from the ground up, and the Business tier adds a Client Success Lead and Advanced Reports that read like deliberate choices for agency use.

Agencies handling reputation management for multiple clients will find the unlimited user seats on Business and above meaningful. White-label reporting, available at those higher tiers, matters when you're delivering work under a client's brand.

Solo creators. Brand24 won't schedule a post, write a caption, or manage a content calendar for them, and the $249 monthly entry point is hard to justify for someone monitoring one personal brand with a handful of keywords. Something like ContentStudio handles publishing and monitoring in one place at a fraction of the cost.

Small businesses on tight budgets aren't the target user here either. The pricing structure makes that clear without any editorial commentary needed.

Brand24 Review Verdict

Brand24 does a focused job well. It watches the web across 25 million sources, applies sentiment analysis in 108 languages, flags spikes in mention activity automatically, and tries to surface a usable narrative from the data without requiring manual triage. Podcast monitoring is a genuine differentiator. The AI Events Detection feature has real operational value for PR teams. The AI Brand Assistant is useful at meaningful mention volumes, less so at low ones.

The AI layer is more credible than most tools making comparable claims, with the caveat that "the entire AI stack is proprietary" is not accurate. Brand24 has its own metrics and processing, and also builds on GPT infrastructure. Both are true simultaneously.

The $249 monthly entry price is the thing that limits our enthusiasm for recommending this broadly. No free plan, no published refund policy, and a trial window that expires before some teams have finished their evaluation process. For enterprise PR operations and established agencies, none of that is a dealbreaker. For everyone else, the math doesn't work easily.

The right buyer will find this an easy call. The wrong buyer will figure that out after the trial ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Brand24 have a free plan?

No. A 14-day free trial is available, but no ongoing free tier exists. After the trial, the cheapest option is $249 per month billed monthly, or $199 per month on an annual plan. That's a steep entry point relative to most tools in this category. Make the trial count.

What does Brand24 actually monitor?

Social platforms, news outlets, blogs, podcasts, forums, and review sites. The stated source count is 25 million. Podcast monitoring and forum coverage are the less common ones in this category, and both are handled natively. The platform monitors all of this but does not publish content to any of these sources.

Is Brand24 good for small businesses?

Probably not at current pricing. The tool is well-suited for PR teams and agencies with established software budgets. A small business monitoring a handful of brand keywords will likely find it difficult to justify $249 per month, especially without a free plan available after the trial period ends.
