The cheaper of the two packages here, Checkout and Post-Purchase, costs $25 a month at 500 orders, while Cart and Merchandising costs $45 at the same volume. Both rise with order volume and take 10% off when you add a second package, so a growing store crosses $30 on orders alone. The free product, Rebuy Monetize, is separate. Choose it over Kimonix when post-purchase offers matter, since Kimonix has none.

  • Rebuy Generated Revenue is reported as a distinct metric, showing the revenue driven directly by Rebuy's widgets, links, search and recommendations.
  • Combining packages brings an automatic discount of up to 30 percent.
  • Rebuy works only with Shopify, including Shopify Plus and Hydrogen, and no other platform.

#2LimeSpot: Best for upsells on a small Shopify store

Turbo is the entry product: Shopify only, not for Shopify Plus, with a price that rises with monthly orders and sits at $19.99 up to 250 orders. Over the free tier of 10 orders it buys room for a store with real sales, with bundles, recommendations and post-purchase offers on the product list. Max, the full suite, is priced on revenue and is the step that passes $30. Pick it over Rebuy for a low-volume store.

  • LimeSpot Turbo is free for up to 10 orders a month.
  • Advanced A/B Testing runs multi-variate tests with statistical significance and confidence tracking.
  • LimeSpot Turbo does not work on Shopify Plus stores.

#3Runner AI: Best for a hosted store built by chat

Plus is the first paid plan and the one that fits this price. Over free it adds hosting, live checkout, 1,000 credits a month, one always-on published store, unlimited products and up to 100 dropshipping products, with the per-sale fee falling from 3.5% to 2%. Full A/B testing waits for Pro, and more than one store for Max. Pick it over GemPages when you need a store built and hosted, not pages in an existing one.

  • Builds and edits an entire store through chat rather than a drag and drop editor.
  • Includes hosting and live checkout from the Plus plan up.
  • Charges a declining per-sale fee on top of every subscription tier, from 2% on Plus down to 1% on Max, that never reaches zero.

#4GemPages: Best for unlimited Shopify landing pages

Build

Build is the entry plan, and what it gives over free is unlimited page publishing where the free plan stops at one page. Any published page can run A/B tests through GemX, and custom code access is listed as a plan feature. It supports Shopify only, and the yearly plan is closed to new customers, so billing is monthly. Pick it over Runner AI when the store already exists and you want more pages, not a new store.

  • A free plan that never expires, on top of unlimited page publishing on every paid plan.
  • Built-in A/B testing runs through GemX on any published page.
  • The free plan is capped at one published page; unlimited publishing needs a paid plan.

#5Photoroom: Best for clean product photos with batch editing

The free plan is for personal use only, so selling means a paid plan, and the entry plans count AI credits and exports: Pro gives 8,000 credits and 1,000 exports, Max 25,000 and 3,000. That suits a seller whose catalog is mostly product photos, using background removal, AI staging and batch editing through the web app or API, with Shopify sync called Marketplace Sync. Ultra's 75,000 credits are for large catalogs. Pick it over the store builders when photos are the gap; hair and translucent packaging trip the cutout.

  • The background remover is fast and accurate, particularly on product images with clean subjects, backed by 80 million users.
  • Purpose-built for e-commerce sellers, meaning every feature decision is shaped around product visual workflows.
  • Not a general-purpose design tool, no logo generator, wireframing, or presentation builder, which will disappoint broader creative users.

#6APPROSEARCH: Best for euro-priced search with voice and an API

Test before you pay: there is no free plan, only a 14-day trial on every tier. Start allows 10,000 requests a month, 5,000 indexed products, one store and one language, and Growth lifts that to 50,000 requests, 25,000 products and three languages. Image search arrives with Scale, not on the entry plans, and results are not personalized per shopper. Choose it over Nobi for a documented REST API, SDKs and webhooks, and for euro pricing.

  • It combines BM25 keyword search with AI semantic search, plus voice search in more than 90 languages.
  • It works with Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Sylius.
  • There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial.

#7Nobi: Best for search that remembers each shopper

The $25 Standard plan covers 2,500 searches, 250 conversational messages, 5,000 searchable items and 5,000 knowledge base documents, then bills $0.01 for each extra search and $0.10 for each extra message. It remembers a shopper across visits and reorders results to match. Every account gets 100 free messages to preview in the dashboard, but going live needs a card-backed 30-day trial. Pick it over APPROSEARCH for personalized results; skip it if you want image search.

  • Semantic search always returns related results instead of a dead end.
  • It remembers a shopper across visits and personalizes results to their past behavior.
  • There is no free plan; a live deployment needs a card-backed 30-day trial before the $25-a-month plan begins.

#8Kimonix: Best for collections sorted by sales and margin

A base fee plus usage that moves with views and impressions, so the bill follows traffic and there is no flat tier. It sorts collections by sales, stock and margin, adds cross-selling, personalized email recommendations and A/B testing, and does not train language models of its own. There are no bundles and no shopper segments, and no free plan after the 14-day trial. Choose it over Rebuy when collection sorting matters more than offers, on Shopify or Shopify Plus.

  • Kimonix combines collection sorting, cross-selling, personalized emails and A/B testing in one Shopify app.
  • Kimonix carries no setup fee and no minimum contract, and can be cancelled at any time.
  • Kimonix has no bundle building feature.

How to choose an AI e-commerce tool under $30 a month

Every tool on this page has an entry price that looks small, and almost none of them keeps it as the store grows. The price moves with orders, views, searches, indexed products, credits or a cut of each sale, so a low starting figure tells you less than what it is attached to. This guide sorts the tools by job, shows what each entry plan counts, and walks through how the bill changes when a store gets busier.

Start with the job, not the tool

Four jobs account for nearly everything here, and each tool is built for one of them.

  • Merchandising. Recommendations, collection sorting, cross-sells and bundles. Rebuy, LimeSpot and Kimonix are the three tools for this, and all of them work on Shopify.
  • Store search. Letting shoppers find a product by typing. APPROSEARCH and Nobi are the two search tools, and they count different things: requests and indexed products at one, searches and conversational messages at the other.
  • Product images. Photoroom removes backgrounds and edits images in batches, with a Shopify sync called Marketplace Sync.
  • Building pages and stores. GemPages edits pages inside Shopify, and Runner AI builds an entire store through chat, with hosting and checkout from its Plus plan.

If you know which job is holding sales back, the price comparison gets simpler.

Job Start with Runner-up and the trade-off
Recommendations on a small store LimeSpot Rebuy covers cart, checkout and post-purchase, with entry packages priced at a baseline of 500 orders
Sort collections by sales and margin Kimonix LimeSpot adds bundles, which Kimonix has no feature for
Search that learns each shopper Nobi APPROSEARCH does no per-shopper personalization, but lists several store platforms
Search for a European catalog APPROSEARCH Nobi counts searches and messages, and bills extra units
Clean product photos Photoroom Its Max plan adds credits and exports for larger catalogs
Landing and product pages GemPages Runner AI replaces the whole store, not only a page

What the price actually buys

At this budget you buy a base amount of one thing, so check what that amount covers.

  • Merchandising. LimeSpot Turbo starts at $9.99 a month and rises with orders, reaching $19.99 for up to 250 a month. Kimonix has a base fee of $19 plus usage, which follows views and impressions. Rebuy's Checkout and Post-Purchase package is $25 a month at 500 orders and rises with volume, while its Cart and Merchandising package is $45 at the same volume.
  • Search. APPROSEARCH Start covers 10,000 requests a month, 5,000 indexed products, 1 store and 1 language, priced in euros. Nobi Standard is $25 and includes 2,500 searches, 250 conversational messages and 5,000 searchable items, then charges $0.01 per extra search and $0.10 per extra message.
  • Images. Photoroom Pro is $7.50 a month billed yearly, or $12.99 monthly, for 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports, and Max is $20.99 billed yearly for 25,000 credits and 3,000 exports. Credits meter AI edits, and exports meter finished images.
  • Pages and stores. GemPages Build is $29 a month and publishes an unlimited number of pages. Runner AI Plus is $25 for 1,000 credits, one published store, unlimited products and up to 100 dropshipping products, plus a 2% fee on each sale.

Which tool fits which store owner

  • A small Shopify store watching costs. Start with LimeSpot Turbo, because the first rung is free for up to 10 orders and the paid step is low. It does not run on Shopify Plus, so a Plus store should look at Kimonix or Rebuy.
  • A merchant who wants collections sorted automatically. Start with Kimonix, because it sorts by sales, stock and margin and adds cross-selling, personalized emails and A/B testing. It has no bundles and no shopper segments, and works only with Shopify and Shopify Plus.
  • A store with many products to photograph. Start with Photoroom Pro, because batch editing runs edits across many images at once. Move to Max when exports run out.
  • A European or multi-platform store. Start with APPROSEARCH, because it works with Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Sylius, and it offers a REST API and webhooks.
  • A merchant who wants search to remember shoppers. Start with Nobi, because it recalls a shopper across visits and reorders results to match. It is added through a script rather than the Shopify App Store.
  • A first-time seller or dropshipper. Start with Runner AI, because chat builds the store and Plus includes hosting and checkout. Add Photoroom for product photos.

Where the entry plans stop

Limit Tools What happens at the edge
Orders LimeSpot Turbo (250 at $19.99), Rebuy (500 as the pricing baseline) The price rises with volume
Searches or requests APPROSEARCH Start (10,000), Nobi (2,500 searches, 250 messages) Nobi bills extra units, and APPROSEARCH moves you to Growth
Catalog size APPROSEARCH Start (5,000 indexed products), Nobi (5,000 searchable items) A larger catalog needs a larger plan
Credits and exports Photoroom Pro (8,000 credits, 1,000 exports), Runner AI Plus (1,000 credits) Editing or building waits for the next month
Stores Runner AI (1 published store), APPROSEARCH Start (1 store, 1 language) More stores need a higher tier
Fee per sale Runner AI Plus (2%) The fee continues on top of the subscription

The most important lines are the ones that rise silently. A per-sale fee grows with revenue, per-extra-search charges grow with traffic, and orders-based tiers grow with growth itself. Estimate next quarter's volume, not this month's, and price the plan against that.

What the cheapest plan leaves out

The entry plans hold back features rather than merely counting them. APPROSEARCH lists image search on Scale and Enterprise only, and it does not personalize results for individual shoppers. Runner AI's A/B and multivariate testing is preview-only on Plus, and full testing starts at Pro. Kimonix has no bundle builder, and LimeSpot Turbo cannot be installed on Shopify Plus stores.

The other cost is setup effort. Nobi has no Shopify App Store listing, so installing it means adding a few lines of JavaScript to the theme. Photoroom struggles with complex edges such as hair or translucent packaging, so a catalog of those still needs hand edits.

Privacy and who sees your store data

Merchants hand over product data, order history and shopper behavior, so what a vendor says about training matters. Kimonix states that it does not develop or train large language models of its own. Rebuy states SOC 2 reports and GDPR compliance, and APPROSEARCH, Nobi and Kimonix all state GDPR coverage.

A merchandising or search tool works from your catalog and shopper behavior, so those are the records to weigh when you pick one.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Comparing base fees as if they were totals. Kimonix adds usage to $19, Rebuy's $25 is at 500 orders, and Nobi bills extra searches and messages. Compare each at your own volume.
  2. Reading Rebuy's lowest price as the whole suite. The $25 package covers checkout and post-purchase, and cart and merchandising is a separate $45 package at the same volume. A second package takes 10 percent off.
  3. Choosing APPROSEARCH Start for image search. It begins at Scale. If visual search is the point, price that plan from the start.
  4. Skipping Nobi's free preview. Every account gets 100 free messages a month to try it in the dashboard, and going live needs the 30-day trial, which requires a card. Preview first, then start the trial.
  5. Treating Runner AI's 2% as a footnote. On $2,000 of monthly sales, 2% is $40, more than Plus costs. Set the fee against the lower rate on the next tier at your own sales level.

When to move up a plan

You have outgrown an entry plan when a limit is shaping your decisions: trimming the catalog to fit an indexed-product cap, holding back image edits for the next month, or watching the order count to avoid a price step.

If you are Upgrade to What changes
Outgrowing recommendations LimeSpot Max Revenue-based pricing from $50 for the fuller personalization suite, with free setup and onboarding
Adding checkout offers and a smart cart Rebuy, second package Both packages together, at 10 percent off
Running search on a growing catalog APPROSEARCH Growth 50,000 requests, 25,000 indexed products and 3 languages
Shipping many product images Photoroom Max 25,000 credits and 3,000 exports
Selling steadily on a Runner AI store Runner AI Pro A lower per-sale fee of 1.5% and A/B testing

Trials differ. Rebuy, APPROSEARCH and Kimonix give 14 days, LimeSpot gives 15 and Nobi gives 30, with a card. APPROSEARCH and Kimonix list no setup fee and no long-term commitment. Photoroom lists a trial and a free plan for personal use only, Runner AI and GemPages offer a free plan instead of a trial, and Rebuy lists up to 30 percent off when packages are combined.

Using two budget tools together

Two inexpensive tools that count different things cover a store better than one that stretches to do both.

  1. Prepare images in Photoroom, using Pro's 1,000 exports for the products that matter most.
  2. Publish a page in GemPages that shows those images and a clear offer.
  3. Add recommendations with LimeSpot Turbo so each buyer sees a related product.

A second pairing suits search-led stores: use Nobi or APPROSEARCH to help shoppers find things, and Kimonix to sort collections by sales, stock and margin.

How we picked

Every tool here is ranked by its score, and each score is worked out from the vendor’s own published pages: pricing, plans, features and terms. No score is adjusted by hand. All 8 tools have enough published facts to be scored, and on average 87% of each score comes from facts the vendor publishes. The facts behind these scores were checked between 24 September 2026 and 8 October 2026.

Common questions

How much does an AI product photo tool cost for a Shopify store?

Photoroom's free plan does not allow commercial use, so a store needs a paid plan, and those are measured in credits and exports: Pro gives 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports, Max 25,000 and 3,000, and Ultra 75,000 and 10,000. Count how many product photos you edit in a month, then pick the tier that covers it. The tool is built for product images, so it is not a general design plan.

Do AI site search apps charge per search?

Some do. Nobi includes 2,500 searches and 250 conversational messages in its base fee, then bills for extras. APPROSEARCH instead sets tiers by monthly requests and indexed products, 10,000 and 5,000 on Start, so you move up a tier rather than pay per unit. A steady catalog suits the tiers, and unpredictable traffic suits neither.

What is the cheapest way to add product recommendations to Shopify?

LimeSpot Turbo is the lowest here, rising with monthly orders from $9.99 and reaching $19.99 by 250. Rebuy's Checkout and Post-Purchase package costs $25 at 500 orders, and its Cart and Merchandising package $45. Kimonix charges a base fee plus usage on views and impressions. Order volume decides which of the three stays cheapest.

Can I build a store under $30 a month without Shopify?

Runner AI is the one that hosts a store of its own. Its Plus plan includes hosting, live checkout, 1,000 credits and unlimited products, with a 2% per-sale fee plus your payment provider's fee. GemPages, Rebuy and Kimonix all sit inside Shopify, so they need a store already running there. Runner AI also imports a Shopify store's customers in one click.

Which of these tools work with Shopify Plus?

Rebuy supports Shopify Plus and the Hydrogen framework, Kimonix is built for Shopify and Shopify Plus, and LimeSpot Max works on Shopify Plus too. LimeSpot Turbo does not, so a Plus store has to start on Max, which is priced on revenue instead of orders. Treat that as the deciding point between LimeSpot and Rebuy for larger stores.

Do these AI ecommerce tools lock you into a contract?

Mostly not. Nobi lists no minimum contract term on Standard, Kimonix has no start-up fee or minimum and cancels at any time, and APPROSEARCH has no long-term commitment. GemPages is the exception to watch, since its yearly plan is closed to new customers and the monthly plan is the option left. Rebuy prices by orders, so cost can rise while the term stays flexible.

Is there a trial before paying for search or merchandising?

Yes on most. APPROSEARCH gives 14 days on every tier, Kimonix 14 days, Rebuy 14 days and LimeSpot 15. Nobi gives 30 days but asks for a card, and separately lets every account preview with 100 free messages in its dashboard. If you want to see results without a card, those preview messages are the lowest-risk start.
