Jungle Scout is an Amazon seller and brand intelligence company with two products: Catalyst, a self-serve toolkit for researching and launching products, and Cobalt, an enterprise platform that adds ads management. What decides whether it suits you is the size of your brand, because the bid automation, dayparting and DSP tools live only in Cobalt.

What is Jungle Scout?
Jungle Scout was founded by Greg Mercer and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with team members around the world. It focuses on Amazon alone: Cobalt no longer supports Walmart, and Jungle Scout connects to Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central and Amazon Ads accounts. There is no Shopify app.
Catalyst is built for sellers under $1M and is bought at checkout. It works fully in 8 Amazon marketplaces and partly in 9 more, and its Chrome extension runs on desktop Chrome only. Cobalt is sold after a demo to large brands and enterprises, works in 19 Amazon marketplaces and has its own iOS app.
What Jungle Scout does for marketplace sellers
Catalyst. Catalyst is the research and launch toolkit. It includes Product Tracker, the Sales Estimator, Opportunity Finder and the Product Database, with monthly caps by plan, and sales analytics that track your profit margins. It has advertising analytics but no PPC management.
Cobalt intelligence. Cobalt adds deep category, market, brand and product intelligence, and connects that market and keyword data to ad execution, so you can plan, launch and optimize campaigns based on real demand.
Cobalt ads. The ads platform works with Amazon Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display. ROI Optimization uses machine learning to adjust bids and test new keywords over time to improve ACoS or RoAS. Automations adjust bids, budgets, pacing or targets toward a goal you set: a maximum ACoS, a minimum RoAS, a budget, sales or shelf position.
Dayparting schedules delivery for your highest-performing hours. Keyword Harvesting moves converting search terms into a focused campaign automatically. Rulebooks let a brand set its own conditions and actions, including adding negative keywords, and carry them out automatically. DSP management and reporting cover both self-managed and Amazon-managed DSP, with DSP rulebooks.
Bids are steered toward ad metrics, not profit: margins are tracked in Catalyst's sales analytics and not used to set bids. The ads platform manages bids, budgets and keywords and does not generate ad copy, images or video. Cobalt is run by the brand itself, with a customer success manager. Jungle Scout Consult, the done-for-you offer, is custom reporting and analysis, not a team running your ads.
Working with other people
Team members join by invitation with their own login. Extra Catalyst seats cost $49 a month each, or $459 a year on annual billing, and Cobalt is priced per user. Catalyst includes 1 platform integration and Cobalt 6. The integrations cover Seller Central, Vendor Central, Amazon Ads and Amazon DSP.
A data API covers keywords, sales estimates, share of voice and the product database. The first 100 requests are free with a Jungle Scout plan, and more than 10,000 calls a month is priced as a custom deal. Zapier works through the API, and an MCP connection brings Jungle Scout data into AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot.
Jungle Scout pricing: what each plan gives

There is no free plan and no free trial. Catalyst's standard plans come with a 7-day money-back guarantee instead, and carry no obligation beyond the current billing cycle.

None of the Catalyst plans include PPC management; that is a Cobalt feature.
Support
Support runs through a chat widget, by email at support@junglescout.com and through a contact form, with no phone line. Cobalt customers get a dedicated customer success manager.
Who Jungle Scout suits
Catalyst suits Amazon sellers under $1M who want product research, sales estimates and launch tools at a fixed monthly price, with a money-back window to try it. Growing teams can add Catalyst seats at $49 a month each. Cobalt suits large Amazon brands and enterprises that want market intelligence tied to ads management, with rule-based automation, dayparting, keyword harvesting and DSP in one platform.
It suits less well sellers on Walmart or other marketplaces, since Jungle Scout covers Amazon only. Smaller sellers who want automated PPC management will not find it in Catalyst, and anyone who wants to try before paying has no free plan or trial, only the 7-day money-back guarantee.
